Madison Bar + Kitchen – Chicago, IL

Madison Bar + Kitchen is an urban American restaurant that celebrates the spirit of the Big City in Chicago’s West Loop. The design takes inspiration from the history of the Holden Building that houses the restaurant. C.P Holden was a Chicago pioneer and a big business/railroad magnate. Elegantly striped banquettes in an ironwork structure recall the dining cars of the Burlington Route trains and an enormous neon design on the ceiling with the words “on the right track” is a nod to the industry. Two original works of art – one an assemblage of maps, cocktails, historic portraits with a splash of steam punk honors Chicago’s past; while the second, a bold, black and white mural showcases today’s dynamic Chicago.
